Despite Djeffa FC 2-0 loss, coach Offor pick positives

Says team is improving...

Coach Paul Offor

Djeffa FC of Benin Republic manager, Paul Offor has expressed satisfaction with his team's performance in the 2-0 loss to Cavalier FC on Thursday a test game.

Cavalier FC scored their first goal from the penalty spot after the center referee spotted an infringement before converting their second from a corner kick.

Speaking after the match, Offor said he was pleased with the performance of his players, especially in the second half.

"We played against a very good team that took their chances, my team was good and we gave 22 players minutes and used all our goalkeepers'.

For the first time in our preparation, I was able to use more players that will play for us this season and I'm happy with the performance, especially the 2nd team that played the second half".

"We conceded from the penalty spot and late in the 2nd half from a corner and this is the second time we are conceding from a set piece, first against Dragons and now Cavalier FC". We haven't conceded from open play for four games now and we have to pay more attention to these situations because lots of teams in Africa score more from these situations".

Our style of play also means we are exposed behind and must deal with long balls, the penalty came from poor defending of a long kick from the goalkeeper.

I'm happy they created these problems for us to work on and find solutions"

Djeffa FC has now played four games under the Nigerian-born soccer tactician with three wins and one defeat.
