LeBron James opts out of Cleveland Cavaliers
LeBron James has told the Cleveland Cavaliers that he will opt out of the final 12 months of his deal with the franchise to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
James has decided to decline his $21.6million (£14m) player option he holds for next season and re-enter unrestricted free agency that begins on Wednesday.
The four-time NBA Most Valuable Player signed a two-year deal including an opt out option after the halfway through with Cleveland last summer, following his four-year spell at the Miami Heat.
