Chris Froome: I was careless for missing two drugs tests

Froome says his most recent missed test was down to reception procedures at an exclusive hotel in Italy

Chris Froome has admitted to missing two drugs tests, and accepts it is 'unprofessional' when any athlete falls foul of the World Anti-Doping Agency's 'whereabouts' rule.

Less than a week after it was revealed that Mo Farah was only one missed tests away from a ban during the build up to the 2012 Olympics after missing two, Froome says he was in the far less precarious position of missing one in 2010 and one in 2014. The current rules state that three in a 12-month period leads to a suspension.
In fairness to the 2013 Tour de France winner, he has called for more stringent testing for professional cyclists – including 24 hour testing – and was the one current member of the professional peloton to allow his name to be published after speaking to the independent commission into doping in cycling (CIRC).
