Robben on par with Messi & Ronaldo, says Sammer

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has voiced his admiration for Arjen Robben and believes the Dutchman is on the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.



Robben is one a number of Bayern players to have made the 23-man shortlist for the 2014 Fifa Ballon d'Or and Sammer feels he fully merits all the praise he has been getting for his performances this year.

"Robben is a world-class player and he is on par with Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo," Sammer was quoted as saying by Sport Bild.

"He fully deserves every bit of recognition. You can't put a price on Arjen, not as a player and not as a person either.

"He has the advantage of having a stable life. Arjen has found a certain balance.

"I don't know whether he is better than ever before, but the consistency with which he performs at the highest level in big games and his training intensity are extraordinary."

In a video currently trending on social media, Chief Emami said his advice was based purely on practical and economic reasons that could have affected the timely and cost-effective completion of the project. He noted that the logistical challenges and high cost of transporting construction materials and equipment to Ugborodo made it less suitable for such project given the amount available.
