serbia awarded 3-0 win but docked three points after Albania abandonment
Uefa has confirmed that Serbia have been awarded a 3-0 victory for the abandoned Euro 2016 qualifier against Albania, yet simultaneously docked three points and handed a stadium ban.
The match was abandoned with the scores tied at 0-0 after a drone carrying a pro-Albania flag was flown into the stadium, with Serbia's Stefan Mitrovic ripping the flag down. That in turn instigated a brawl between the two sets of players.
Further issues followed when Albania's players were subjected to missiles being thrown from the terraces, with referee Martin Atkinson eventually calling a permanent halt to proceedings.
And now Uefa has confirmed the Serbian FA's earlier statement detailing punishments for both sides, with Serbia awarded the three points only to have them subsequently taken away.
