Wilshere: Arsenal wouldn't sell me to a rival for €20m

Jack Wilshere claims Arsenal would not sell him to a major rival for €20 million (£16m), after the Gunners signed Danny Welbeck from Manchester United.

Louis van Gaal claimed on Thursday that Welbeck was allowed to leave Old Trafford because he did not prove his worth alongside the likes of Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney, with the Gunners snapping up the England international on transfer deadline day.

Former United defender Gary Neville subsequently criticised United’s decision to sell the star – who scored a brace against Switzerland in the Three Lions’ opening Euro 2016 qualifier – and Wilshere does not believe the Gunners would let him leave so easily.
