Brazil want Germany rematch

Brazil Football Confederation (CBF) president Jose Maria Marin wants to see a rematch between Brazil and Germany.


The Selecao suffered a 7-1 defeat to Joachim Low’s side when the two sides met in a World Cup semi-final this year, ending Brazil’s dreams of lifting the title on home soil for the first time.

And Marin says the time has come for Brazil to face their fears and draw a line under what was their biggest ever World Cup defeat.

“We want to play a friendly match against Germany, so that we can forget about what happened,” he told O Estado de Sao Paulo.

“It will be way to exorcize our demons, to turn a new page and make a fresh start.

"There's no doubt about our performance, we were truly disappointing. We will have another opportunity at home when we host the Olympic Games, and our goal should be to try to make things better for our fans, after what they endured last summer...
