Landon Donovan breaks MLS scoring record
Landon Donovan ended a bad week on a high note by becoming the all-time leading scorer in MLS history with his 135th goal in the competition.
But he showed national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann what he is missing with his record-breaking goal against the Philadelphia Union.
Donovan, 32, is widely considered to be one of the best players that the USA have ever produced and has played over 150 times for his country.
USA coach Klinsmann said that he and his staff felt that some of their players were ahead of Donovan in certain areas, something the ex-Everton man later disagreed with.
