Landon Donovan ended a bad week on a high note by becoming the all-time leading scorer in MLS history with his 135th goal in the competition.
LA Galaxy star Donovan, who spent time with Everton during two separate loan spells in 2010 and 2012, was shocked to be left out the USA's World Cup squad.

Donovan, 32, is widely considered to be one of the best players that the USA have ever produced and has played over 150 times for his country.
USA coach Klinsmann said that he and his staff felt that some of their players were ahead of Donovan in certain areas, something the ex-Everton man later disagreed with.
