Manchester United chief Ed Woodward stayed in Germany after the defeat by Bayern Munich to discuss a potential move for Toni Kroos.
Woodward did not board the plane home with the rest of the Manchester United squad and is believed to be holding talks with the Bayern hierarchy.
The 24-year-old is United's top target this summer with Kroos believed to be interested in a switch to Old Trafford.
