Nigeria still keen on US friendly
The Nigeria Football Federation has stated emphatically that the Super Eagles schedule preparatory to the World Cup in Brazil will remain the same, despite reports in the media that the friendly with the United States has been cancelled.
As speculation mount of changes to the preparation schedule as earlier released by the federation, NFF's spokesman Ademola Olajire has cleared the air against such stories.
"We have heard people talking about cancellation of the friendly with the senior team of the USA. Sincerely we don not know where this is coming from,"Olajire stated.
"For avoidance of doubt, the NFF and it's official Fifa match agent Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport hereby re-confirm that the Super Eagles will regroup in London on Saturday, 25th May, play Scotland at the Craven Cottage on Tuesday, 28 May then fly to the USA on Wednesday, 29th May.
Nigeria also affirmed the friendlies with Greece at the Philadelphia Union Stadium on June 3rd and the United States at the Everbank Field Stadium in Jacksonville will go on as scheduled.
The NFF's official match agent Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport also stated that the friendlies and environment will do the Super Eagles a lot of good as they prepare for the World Cup.
