Stoke 2-1 Manchester United: Adam double ends Stoke drought

Manchester United slipped to an eighth league defeat of the season despite the attacking talents of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata all playing.

David Moyes endured a miserable afternoon as he also saw Jonny Evans injured  just 11 minutes in and Phil Jones taken to hospital after a heavy first-half collision with Jon Walters.

The injuries saw Michael Carrick used as an emergency centre back. Rooney saw a late free-kick tipped onto the bar as United went in search of an equaliser.Misery: David Moyes saw his team lose again and saw both Phil Jones and Jonny Evans pick up injuries
Charlie Adam scored twice - one a heavily deflected free-kick off Carrick and one a sweetly struck shot into the top corner - to end a run of six matches without victory for Mark Hughes.
