Players and managers paid their respects on Twitter when the news broke that Aragones had passed away, with current Spain coach Vicente del Bosque saying: 'Without a doubt, our current run of success is a result of his legacy. He had a long history of coaching experience and he had a special appreciation for the game.'
Aragones played 13 times for his country and won three leagues with Atletico Madrid as an attacking midfielder and he was La Liga’s top scorer in the 1969-70 season.
