The Barclays Premier League side want to sign the 26-year-old for free when his contract expires at the end of the season, but infuriated the Porto hierarchy by making an unexpected last-minute approach on deadline day.On his way: Fernando, 26, seen here playing against Austria Wien in the Europa League, has no intention of renewing his contract at Porto
And that could allow Juventus to step in, according to the Italian newspaper Tuttosport.
Fernando has no intention of renewing his contract, despite two years of effort by the Portuguese club, and Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has already started attempts to persuade him to choose Italy over England.
