150,000 Naira minimum pay for Nigeria league player

The league and club managers have agreed that each player registered for the Nigeria championship will earn at least 150,000 Naira monthly (less than $1,000).

This followed the abolishment of sign-on fees in the league.

“We have agreed that the minimum pay for a player in the league will now be 150,000 Naira as clubs will no longer pay sign-on fees,” the league Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salihu Abubakar informed MTNFootball.com

Several clubs including Kaduna United, Shooting Stars and most recently Heartland have already cancelled sign-on fees and now pay hefty monthly salaries.
