Left out: Marouane Fellaini was left on the bench for Man United's match with Real Sociedad on Wednesday
Marouane Fellaini bore the brunt of David Moyes’s displeasure after Manchester United’s disappointing draw with Southampton last weekend.

The £27.5million summer signing from Everton was dropped to the bench for Wednesday night’s Champions League win over Real Soceidad with Moyes putting his trust in 39-year-old Ryan Giggs.

The United boss was furious at his team’s sloppiness in giving away so much possession against Saints before they conceded a late equaliser at Old Trafford.

Bearing the brunt: David Moyes was furious with his team's poor possession and Fellaini was the main culprit
A post-match inquest revealed that Fellaini was the worst offender before he was replaced by Danny Welbeck 15 minutes from time.
The Belgium midfielder was then left as an unused substitute against Sociedad as Moyes made his feelings known.
