Ronaldo back in training

Poised: Ronaldo (centre) is the Champions League top goalscorer on 12 and could start the match

Cristiano Ronaldo has given Real Madrid a timely boost in their unlikely bid to overturn the three-goal deficit over Borussia Dortmund after the Portugal striker returned to full training this morning.

The former Manchester United star missed Real’s Madrid derby win against Atletico on Saturday after picking up a thigh injury in the first-leg defeat by Dortmund.

Ronaldo was upstaged by Dortmund counterpart Robert Lewandowski at the Westfalenstadion last week, as the ruthless Poland hitman scored all four goals in the crushing 4-1 win.
