Different part of the world, same two stories for Liverpool. As was the case before last week’s game in Preston, Luis Suarez dominated the build-up but Philippe Coutinho stole the show. There has been much talk about Suarez’s future here in Jakarta this week but, providing a welcome diversion for Brendan Rodgers, another vibrant display from the little Brazilian illuminated Liverpool’s hard-fought 2-0 win over an Indonesia XI. Goals from Coutinho and Raheem Sterling either side of the break may have sent the locals home happy but Rodgers, while he will have been satisfied with the work out, the clean sheet and the result, will be aware that Liverpool can step up significantly on this. Manchester united 5-1 A-League All Stars

Premier League champions Manchester united  dominated proceedings as they defeated A-League All Stars 5-1. A Goal from Robin Van Persie,  braces  two goals each from  danny welbeck  jesse Lingard gave David Moyes his first win as united boss. Wilfried Zaha made his full debut for United as Moyes tinkered with the team who lost 1-0 to Thailand All-Stars last Sunday - with the likes of Patrice Evra and Phil Jones handed their first outings of the Asia tour.

PSG wants Cristiano Ronaldo

Paris Saint-Germain  president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has claimed that he could easily land his "dream signing" Cristiano Ronaldo  on account of his "very good relationship" with  Real Madrid  counterpart Florentino Perez. The Ligue 1 champions have been regularly linked with a move for the Portuguese superstar and the Qatari businessman insists that a deal is not beyond the realms of possibility. "I know he has two years left on his contract with Real Madrid," Al-Khelaifi is quoted as saying by  AS . "But I have a very good relationship with Florentino. If I want my dream of signing Cristiano to be met, I'll call [Perez]."

Nigerias team list for the Nelson Mandela challenge

Nigeria  coach  Stephen Keshi  has recalled  Shola Ameobi  to the squad that will play in the Nelson Mandela Challenge against South Africa on August 14 in Durban. The Newcastle United forward recently became available to the team again after resolving a clause in his contract that made him unable to represent Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations in January. Qatar 2022 World Cup should be held in winter, insists Blatter

Fifa president Sepp Blatter has insisted that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar should be held during the winter period for European nations. The Middle Eastern nation were controversially awarded the tournament back in 2010, despite fears over the country's soaring temperatures. And the Swiss official has insisted that the competition cannot be held during June and July.

Arsenal 7-1 Vietnam

Olivier Giroud bagged a first-half hat-trick as Arsenal continued their pre-season tour of Asia with a 7-1 annihilation of Vietnam in Hanoi.
